Banana Ball Teams Up with Roc Solid Foundation to Build Playset for Boy Fighting Cancer

For the third year in a row, Roc Solid Foundation and Banana Ball teams have joined forces to bring joy, hope and unforgettable experiences to families fighting pediatric cancer.

In July 2025, ahead of their game in Virginia later that evening, Banana Ball players dedicated their morning to something bigger than baseball—building a backyard playset for a local family fighting pediatric cancer.

This ongoing partnership between Roc Solid Foundation and the high-energy athletes of the Savannah Bananas, Party Animals and Firefighters continues to show what’s possible when purpose and platform come together.

And for influencers, athletes and brands looking to make a real impact—this is what meaningful partnership looks like.

A Special Day for Fisher and His Family

Fisher is a joyful 1-year-old from Virginia currently battling B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). He loves monster trucks, cars and playing with his big brother, Noah. His parents, Peyton and Jacob, have been navigating the unimaginable with incredible strength.

On the morning of the build, Fisher and his family were surprised with a pink Hummer limo ride to the Norfolk Tides Stadium at Harbor Park for a behind-the-scenes experience with the Banana Ball teams before their Virginia game that night.

They were welcomed by Party Animals #28, Drew Gillespie, who gave them a personal tour of the stadium.

What Fisher and Noah didn’t know is that while they were touring the facility, the rest of the Party Animals and Firefighters teams were out front—building a Roc Solid playset just for them.

Building More Than a Playset

In true Banana Ball fashion, the build was filled with energy, teamwork and purpose. Players split into sections—some constructing the swings, others assembling the rock wall, ladder and deck. They filmed TikToks, laughed together and brought their signature fun to every step of the process.

But beneath the excitement was something deeper:

Intentional impact.

This wasn’t just another community appearance squeezed into a busy schedule. The team chose to start their game day by serving a family fighting pediatric cancer.

When it was time for the big reveal, Banana Ball players surrounded the finished playset. As Fisher, Noah and their parents rounded the corner, confetti popped and bubbles filled the air.

The joy on their faces said everything.

When Fisher and Noah began playing together, you could see the players light up. This is why they keep coming back year after year.

Why Banana Ball Keeps Saying “Yes”

his marks the third straight year Roc Solid Foundation and Banana Ball have teamed up—and the players’ passion for the mission continues to grow.

Ga’von Wray

“I love doing community service, and I just know the world needs it. Roc Solid Foundation is a great foundation, and us coming as a team shows how much we really care. We want to continue to impact the world.”

Bret Helton

“This is one of the big things we look forward to every year. We’ve got people planning it all year. We get to build a playset for a kid in need. His siblings, neighborhood kids — everybody benefits. It’s something we love doing.”

This year’s build even fell on Bret’s birthday. When asked if there was anywhere else he’d rather have spent the day, he didn’t hesitate. “No way. This is perfect. We get to play ball, be around our friends and do something cool like this. The big unveiling is definitely the coolest part.”

South Trimble

“One thing that made me want to come out today and help, along with the rest of our team, is that I’m from this area. I think it’s a really cool foundation and what they’re able to do. As a kid, I was once in the hospital for 21 days and I was so thankful for the care and support those doctors showed—now it’s about giving back and helping. It’s really cool to be here and be a part of this. It’s not that we have to do this, it’s that we get to do this.”

A Father’s Perspective: “You’re Not Alone”

Fisher’s Papa Bear, Jacob, shared what the day meant to their family:

“It’s truly fantastic. Roc Solid has been amazing. Being able to give just a little light of joy in a situation like this is truly awesome. We got to tour the stadium and meet all the players—they’re super nice and genuine. I’m so thankful to have gotten to meet them.

For other families, just know you’re not alone. It’s an incredibly long journey with a lot of ups and downs. Rely on Roc Solid and other cancer foundations—they make things so much easier during this process. It’s a truly amazing community.”

Fisher’s Update

Fisher is now 17 months old and has been in treatment for just over a year. He’s currently in the maintenance phase, which means his treatment is less intense than before but still important to keep him healthy. He’s doing well—and best of all, he’s HOME.

These days, he’s busy keeping up with his big brother, Noah. The playset and playhouse get used almost every single day, turning their backyard into the ultimate adventure zone.

“Thank you Roc Solid for giving our sons the best gift—the gift of play. We can’t wait to support your organization when we get to the next side of this.” — Peyton, Fisher’s Mama Bear.
