Engagement Coordinator

Job Title:  Engagement Coordinator – North Carolina

Reports to:  Chief Play Officer

Organization Overview: Roc Solid Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that builds hope for kids fighting pediatric cancer by providing opportunities for them to do what they do best – PLAY. We are best known for surprising kids fighting cancer with brand new playsets in their backyards and providing Roc Solid Ready Bags to families when they first learn of their child’s diagnosis.

Job Overview: Responsible for engaging and strengthening the Roc Solid community that we love and serve, focusing on our volunteers, families/hospitals and donors.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees and assists with special events and community fundraisers and speaks on behalf of Roc Solid at events
  • Engages volunteers by inviting them to Roc Solid events, communicating with them for feedback via surveys and recognizing their contributions
  • Supplies and collects sponsor agreements and coordinates with finance department to ensure timely payment
  • Effectively communicates with sponsors to provide all project information, answer questions and solicit feedback for future partnership opportunities
  • Coordinates quarterly meetings with current hospital partners in region to strengthen relationships, ensuring hospital needs are met
  • Mails packages to sponsors and families and manages inventory of materials as needed
  • Aids in implementation of regional goals for the foundation
  • Attends regular staff meetings and assists in the evaluation of programs and partnerships

  • Understanding of and belief in the organization’s mission, vision, and values, and a strong commitment to the pediatric cancer community
  • Good sense of accountability, strong dependability, and impeccable integrity
  • Detail-oriented and proactive approach to managing time-sensitive and competing workloads
  • Team player with a willingness to support colleagues outside of one’s primary responsibilities
  • Emotionally intelligent and self-aware, including the ability to ask for, receive and offer assistance or leadership when and where needed
  • Open to and appreciative of feedback; responsive to direction and coaching
  • Capable communicator with an astute eye for written and visual communication 
  • Enthusiastic self-starter operating with sustained energy and showing great initiative
  • Comfort working with a diverse base of support and stakeholders, including homeowners, community leaders, volunteers, donors, other nonprofit organizations, agencies, and corporate partners
  • Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office products, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets (experience with databases, auction software, and other electronic tracking systems a plus)
  • Flexible schedule outside of typical working hours, with the ability and willingness to work occasional nights or weekends as necessary

Compensation: $35,000 – 40,000/year
