Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need construction experience to participate in a playset build?
No special skills are required. Roc Solid will provide your team with a thorough build manual with clear instructions! Pro tip: Sort the hardware before you begin!
How many volunteers are needed to build a playset?
We recommend 10-15 people.
What should I bring/wear?
Please wear closed-toed shoes to the build and dress appropriately for the weather (if you are building outside!)
How long does it take to build the playhouse?
Playhouse builds take between 1.5 – 2 hours, depending on skill set and number of volunteers.
Do we build the playhouse at the family’s home?
We ask that the playhouse be constructed at a 3rd party location (office, warehouse etc) and then delivered to the family home. The constructed playhouse fits into the bed of a pick-up truck! Smaller truck beds may require the side fencing details be transported separately and attached at the home.
How does delivery work?
Roc Solid will provide you with the family’s contact information for you to use to reach out and coordinate the best time of day to deliver the playhouse. You will bring the constructed playhouse to the family’s home and reveal the completed project to the child!
What is the waiver of liability and why do I have to sign it?
Our waiver releases Roc Solid Foundation from any legal liability in the event that injury or personal property damage occurs during a project or event. We ask that waivers be completed before any volunteers begin work on a project site. They may be completed during online registration, but we will also have hard copies available the day of the project. If a volunteer is under the age of 18, his/her name should be listed on the parent/guardian’s waiver.
