Roc Solid Foundation builds hope for kids fighting cancer.

How? By providing them with backyard playsets. Because when a child is playing, they aren’t thinking about cancer, so in that moment, play has won.

16,000 kids are diagnosed with cancer in the U.S. each year, and our mission is to reach them all. But we can’t do it alone.

Through the Play Defeats Cancer Tour, we hope to show communities all over the country how easy it is to build hope and change lives through the power of play.

“When I finally retired at the end of 2020, I was looking forward to traveling, playing golf, and having time for my drawing and painting. Within 3 weeks of retiring I was diagnosed with bladder cancer. Gut check! I was scared and angry, but mostly scared. Not exactly what I had planned for retirement! Nor had I planned to spend the winter & spring in treatment. Thankfully, I got lucky; the cancer was caught early and the treatment has been successful thus far. Then, this past summer, my daughter introduced me to Roc Solid Foundation… I know firsthand what a cancer diagnosis feels like, but I can’t imagine what it feels like to the parents who receive a cancer diagnosis for one of their children. I’m here for the families and kids and I’m truly grateful that I get to help in a small way.”

It’s more than a playset! When families fighting pediatric cancer have a tough day (and they will have tough days), their @rocsolidfoundation playset will remind them of all the strangers from their community who came together to ensure they had a safe, germ-free place to play!

The Play Defeats Cancer Tour, presented by @Atlantic Bay Mortgage Group, is doing just that by building 30 playsets in 30 days all around the country. Join me in sharing their mission so they can one day reach all 16,000 kids diagnosed with cancer each year.

I am so excited for Roc Solid Foundation’s first ever Play Defeats Cancer Tour, building 30 playsets in 30 days to show local communities how easy it is to change the life of a child fighting cancer. When kids are diagnosed with cancer, they often cannot play in public places or with friends. Backyard playsets not only provide kids with a safe, germ-free place to play, but they also create happy memories for families during a really tough time.
