The Million Pound Challenge: How a Fitness Challenge Fueled Hope for Kids Fighting Cancer
On December 13th, something remarkable happened in gyms across the country.
Barbells were loaded. Timers were set. Teams came together with one ambitious goal: to lift one million pounds — not just for strength, but for something far bigger than themselves.
It’s called the Million Pound Challenge, a nationwide effort to raise funds and awareness for kids fighting pediatric cancer through Roc Solid Foundation.
The idea itself started with a simple but bold question: Could one million pounds be lifted in a single workout? When you pause to picture the weight of that number, it almost feels impossible. But when you add teamwork, purpose and heart — impossible starts to feel achievable.
That’s exactly where the challenge was born.

How the Challenge Came to Life
The concept took shape at Fully Alive Personal Training during a Saturday morning tradition, known as the 7 AM Club — a group that meets weekly to move their bodies and “earn their Saturday” through intentional conversation and community. Together, the group explored what it would take to reach a million pounds: how many people, which movements, how much weight and how much time.
Chris Baggett, owner of Fully Alive Personal Training and leader of the 7 AM Club, embraced the challenge of turning that big idea into reality — mapping out the movements, the weights and the structure needed to make it happen.
When asked why it was important for Fully Alive to partner with Roc Solid Foundation, Chris shared:
“When I found out their motto was ‘play defeats cancer,’ it just made sense to me to join and support them as much as I can, because the gym has always been my playground and safe haven.”
That shared belief, that movement can be healing and play can be powerful, became the heartbeat of the challenge.

December 13th: Where Effort Met Purpose
When the challenge kicked off at 7:00 am, the energy inside the gym was undeniable. Teams cheered for one another, strangers became teammates and every rep carried intention.
Our Marketing Coordinator, Riley, was there as the first bar was lifted.
“The energy was electric. Everyone was cheering each other on and supporting one another,” Riley shared. “I brought a photo of Ronnie — one of the kids who would receive a playset because of this event. For the full two hours, teams kept saying, ‘Do it for Ronnie.’”
And they did.

The Impact That Followed
By the end of the 2025 Million Pound Challenge, more than $10,000 had been raised for kids fighting cancer.
And those dollars didn’t stop at awareness… they turned into action.
Because of this challenge, five children will now have playsets in their backyards — places where hospital schedules pause, laughter takes over and childhood gets to be just that: childhood.

More Than a Number
The Million Pound Challenge wasn’t just about weight lifted — it was about the power of people showing up together. About choosing a goal so big it requires community. About proving that when strength is paired with purpose, incredible things happen.
One million pounds may sound heavy — but hope is stronger.
And on December 13th, hope was moved.
