Roc Solid Foundation partners with children’s hospitals throughout the US to distribute Ready Bags to families when their child is diagnosed with cancer. Ready Bags include everything a family may need for their unexpected hospital stays and help establish a relationship between the family and Child Life team as they unpack the Ready Bag together.

What’s in a Ready Bag?

A Ready Bag is a high-quality backpack filled with:

  • Comfort items (blanket, sleep mask, journal)
  • Practical essentials (toiletries, phone charger, reusable water bottle)
  • Play items (tablet, wireless headphones, card games)
  • A hand written note of encouragement to remind families they are not alone

Roc Solid Play Program

Roc Solid also builds backyard play structures, playhouses and playsets, for kids fighting cancer during treatment. Why Play? When a child is diagnosed with cancer, the first thing taken away is the opportunity to play. A new backyard play structure not only provides a safe, germ-free place to play, but it also gives the child and family an escape from the reality of fighting pediatric cancer. We work with our current hospital partners to identify kids in treatment for our play programs.
